Bear Butte, South Dakota

The Knight, the Nun(Prioress), the Cook, and the Carpenter, went on a pilgrimage to Bear Butte, South Dakota. To a religious praying place, where people leave prayer cloths and tobacco bundles tied to branches of trees that are at the top of the mountain. Each character is to talk about a certain event that happened as they went to Bear Butte and back home to Tuba City, Arizona. The pilgrimage will take 12 to 11 days.

The Carpenter

Well I remember this one time as we got to Bear Butte mountain, there was nothing but trees and bushes. I saw that we had no roof to sleep under and nothing to lay on so I made a hut out of branches from trees and made our beds from leaves. I tied the branches together with stems that I left in water to let it soak so it can be flexible enough to tie. I covered the hut with branches that had a lot of leaves on it so no one can see us sleeping. The hut wasn’t too small or too big it was just the right size for the four of us. The Knight slept by the entrance just in case there was intruders so he can fight them off. The Nun slept in the back of the hut because she felt a lot safer if she did, she was complaining about having to sleep outside and having no bed to sleep on but just leaves which were alright. For me leaves were as comfortable as I ever got to be honest she can sometimes be full of herself.

The Nun(Prioress)

The Nun(Prioress)

As we were making our journey to South Dakota, we came along this little town that smiled with green, flowers here and there. The people looking just as nice as the town, asking “How our day went”. As we were walking I saw dogs that looked way too thin to be a dog, with patches of fur missing, I was very shocked to see this sight because it was so disturbing and sad and I just cried. Dogs shouldn’t be scavenging for food, he should be eating cooked pot roast, with warm milk.

The Cook

When it was maybe early December, it was snowing wind cold as ice, I had just got done with making some Zuppa soup. The Knight had just gotten done eating a spoonful of it and says “The flavor of this soup is unimaginable, the spice is just right to where it’s not too spicy it’s just right. The potatoes are just nice and soft, the broth tastes as good as it looks.” Everyone had liked the soup I had made, seeing people go back for second and some even going back for their third bowl. When I went to see if there would be any to store for later, to my surprise, there was nothing left, not even a drop.

The Knight

I remember as we were hiking through the Colorado Mountains, as we got to the top of the mountain there was this huge bear we encountered. He was very muscular with big teeth and claws, his eyes colder than cold. The Nun was screaming at the bear, terrified she ran off making her the target for the bear. As i saw both of them disappear i ran after them, drawing my sword right behind the bear I had stabbed the bear with it laying there it had faded. The Nun was yelling at me for killing the bear she was crying at the sight of the dead bear.
